Polyurethane RTV Mold Rubbers
Poly 74, Poly 75 & Poly 77 Series Rubbers
Our Most Popular Mold Rubbers!
 |
| Artist Mark Sijan, Milwaukee, WI demonstrates the versatility of Polytek and G-P products as they are used to created detailed forms, ranging from the relatively simple apple (below) to the complex life size sculpture (above). |
With hardness from A80 to A20, these are versatile mold rubbers. Most have easy 1:1 mix ratio, long working hours and low viscosity. Popular Poly 74 and 75 Series Liquid Rubbers consist of Part A and Part B that, after mixing, cure overnight at room temperature to be flexible and high-strength mold rubbers. Poly 74 and 75 Series Rubbers make durable, easy releasing molds for casting plasters and waxes without release agents, but when used with proper release agents are also excellent for casting cement, epoxy, polyester, urethane and acrylic.
Poly 77 Series RTV Liquid Rubbers also feature easy to use formulations with 1:1 mix ratios and hardnesses ranging from Shore A50 to A65. These high-performance, high-elongation rubbers are formulated to provide excellent abrasion and tear resistance for maximum mold life and performance as well as ease in demolding when used in demanding casting applications.
Poly 81 Series RTV Liquid Rubbers are used to make firm molds, mold facings, stamping tools, industrial parts, rollers, gaskets, mold shells bumpers or pads. They offer low sensitivity to moisture, and low viscosity for easy vacuuming, if necessary.
Polygel® Brushable/Sprayable Mold Rubbers are without equal for brushed or sprayed blanket molds. Brush Polygel on vertical or overhead surfaces. Sprayable Polygel products are ideal for large surface area applications where brushing may be impractical. Polygel products bond well to many surfaces and should be evaluated as adhesives and sealants. Remember, when brushing Polygel rubber, allow the first coat to gel enough so that the second coat will not disturb it (usually 1 hour is adequate), then apply a second coat being careful to cover any thin spots in the first application.

Silicone RTV Liquid Mold Rubbers
Poly-Sil® Mold Rubbers make molds that are easy releasing and stable at higher temperatures. Products range in hardness from a very soft Shore A10 to a firm A60. They are excellent for casting plasters, waxes, cements, low melting metals and many resins such as epoxies, polyesters, urethane and acrylics. Molds made from these high-performance products such as PlatSil® 71-15 are best for casting harsh resins which will easily pull away from the cast resin part. The smooth, release-free demold of silicone is especially welcome on highly detailed parts.
