WHAT IS YOUR TOUGHEST CASTING PROCESS CHALLENGE?
Veinseal®
"Our machine labor and tool costs in the cleaning room are sky-rocketing. How can we eliminate costly veining issues in our grey & ductile iron castings?"
Veinseal® patented sand core-additive is a unique blend of superior quality materials engineered to prevent veining and gas defects in iron castings caused by thermal expansion of chemically bonded core sands. Less veining defects translates to lower scrap rates and increased profits.

Veinseal® HM
"We're melting high-temperature alloys. We've used the standard specialty sands for years, but the high-cost of these materials is ruining our profits. Make us an anti-veining solution that works as well or better than the industry standard; but lower the costs."
You asked and IGC listened. Long respected as the industry leader in the manufacture of anti-veining solutions for iron, IGC Technologies rose to the challenge presented by members of the Steel Industry, with the development of a new generation of sand core-additive for casting high-temperature alloys; Veinseal® HM for STEEL. These formulations actually eliminate the need for specialty sands.

E-Shield™
"Poor surface finish is our toughest challenge. We dip our cores but get those runs and teardrops with our current coating; and a fair amount of burn-in defects too. Any suggestions"?
Whatever your process, alloy or application, IGC has it covered! E-Shield™ water-based ceramic blends and E-Cast™ zircon coating can greatly improve your casting surface finish. Our formulations are designed to yield maximum protection at the core/metal interface; eliminating unsightly blemish defects.
E-Shield™ Features/Benefits
Metallpur™
"We estimate that 75% of our melt is being sent back to the metal recycler. You can actually see the metal in our dross. That's a big chunk of our profit going out the back door!"
Take control of your melting process with Metallpur™ Flux Agent. Alloy specific formulations are available for numerous applications. Reduce scrap & melt loss, extend crucible/ reverb life and improve metal quality. Consider IGC flux formulations as your process partner.
Metallpur™ Features/Benefits
Mastertop™
"We are experiencing shrink defects in the casting itself, right below the riser. What would you suggest to eliminate this problem?"
Mastertop™ Exothermic Topping & Liquidizer. IGC possesses the capability to modify our burn rate, maximum temperature range and temperature holding range eliminating costly shrink defects.
Mastertop™ Features/Benefits
Slag-Getter™
"We've never used a slag coagulant. But recently, we have noticed slag inclusions getting through the gating system into the casting. I don't want to add more time and work to our process. What do you suggest?"
Slag-Getter™ is easy to apply and easy to remove. With outstanding coagulation properties, slag carryover to your castings will be a thing of the past.

EnviroBlend®
"Is it possible to stabilize our in-line baghouse waste BEFORE it reaches the environment?"
Absolutely. With EnviroBlend®, our approach is to stabilize industrial waste streams by injecting our formulation into the ductwork prior to the dust reaching the baghouse. This approach avoids the generation of hazardous waste as classified by the RCRA program since the material is considered hazardous AFTER the baghouse. With the EnviroBlend® system, the material leavings the baghouse has been treated with EnviroBlend® and meets the RCRA Toxicity Characteristic (TC) standards of heavy metals. The treated material can now be managed as non-hazardous waste, saving your organization time and money associated with RCRA permitting.

Industrial Plasters
"Lately it seems that it takes a really long time for our plaster to set. When it does finally set, there are numerous pinholes in the mold. We've got a new guy mixing plaster in the shop. He says he has been "eye-balling" the amount of plaster and water he mixes for so many years that he can do it in his sleep. And I've never seen him "soak" the plaster before he starts mixing. Could these "habits" be the cause of our mysterious new problems?"
The goal of every plaster shop should be a plaster mix where the plaster particles are completely dispersed in the water to produce a uniform, homogeneous slurry. Successful mixing of industrial plasters requires strict adherence to precise standards. IGC strongly recommends shop procedures to be standardized as well. Mixing of plaster slurry is the most important step in producing plaster casts with maximum strength and hardness. The temperature, amount and cleanliness of the water are equally important factors to consider. Sound complicated? Not really. Learn more on our News and Resource page about the critical process of mixing plaster to ensure reproducible shop results and uniform characteristics and properties from bag to bag.
